Art installations
Installations and photo backdrops design & production
Disney Collaboration
This installation was created for a special collaboration between the company and Disney. We wanted something bold and eye-catching for the flagship store - and that’s how the giant Mickey Mouse ears with glowing sides were born. They framed the entrance like a bright, welcoming arch leading into a world of limited-edition Disney products.
The giant gift box
Christmas is always about gifts - for both kids and grown-ups. That year’s graphic design theme was clean and geometric, so I decided to translate it into a huge gift box installation at the store’s main entrance, using the same colours and design elements. But Christmas is also about magic, right? So I made the box walk-through - inside, it was completely covered in fairy lights and shiny baubles. We installed it overnight, and by the next morning, a line of people had already formed, waiting to step inside and take photos in this sparkling tunnel of Christmas joy.
Mandarine Christmas magic
This year’s Christmas theme was all about mandarins - bright, cheerful, and full of that cozy holiday aroma. The company had just launched a new seasonal drink, Mandarin Latte, and I built the entire festive concept around it. For the flagship store, I created a giant installation - over four metres tall - with huge mandarins spilling out of a coffee cup featuring the seasonal design. It instantly became the centerpiece of the store and a favourite photo spot for visitors. In the cafe area, I added smaller versions of the same installation on the counter, mixing in real mandarins for that fresh citrus scent. Above the work zones, we decorated light fixtures with fir wreaths, baubles, and tiny mandarins, while the ceilings over the seating areas were filled with polygonal mandarins and oversized ornaments. The result? Pure joy. Customers couldn’t stop smiling, taking photos, and telling us it was the most magical Christmas decor they’d ever seen.
The three dragons
Another Christmas, another story. I originally designed this dragon as a window display piece - it was the symbol of the upcoming New Year. But the character quickly took on a life of its own: first as a display figure, then as a toy design, and finally as a full outdoor installation. I built three dragons, from 3 to 1.2 metres tall, all leading visitors toward the store. The largest one stood by the road, seen by hundreds of thousands of passing cars. The middle one greeted people at the entrance, and the smallest one appeared to be “walking” right through the sliding doors. The city loved them so much that locals actually petitioned to keep the dragons up until spring - and we did!
25th Anniversary
For the company’s 25th anniversary, I was asked to create something modest but original. I based the design on the brand’s signature colours and their newly developed infographic style. It became the core of the backdrop, complemented by trendy real grasses for a modern, natural feel. Across elegant ribbons, we printed the company’s slogan - Food. Culture. Discovery. - tying the concept together beautifully.
Valentine's Day installation
The company’s colour is green, so making a typical red heart just didn’t feel right. Instead, I designed a geometric heart made from metal and mirrored composite, with a glowing green neon outline. It was bold, sleek, and very different from the usual Valentine’s aesthetics. The installation became so popular that after Valentine’s Day, it stayed up through the spring - and was later moved to the city park as a public art piece.
Mandarin explosion
One of my very first installations was for the opening of a new store. Usually, store entrances were decorated with balloons, but that felt outdated and uninspired. Since the opening happened right before New Year - the season of mandarins in Russia - I designed an arch structure that looked as if mandarins were bursting out, breaking through the walls. It was fresh, playful, and instantly became a new favourite way to celebrate store openings.
